Ola hope ur enjoyin gur holidays ver mucho

(warning this post will not have much punctuation. so if you get annoyed from lack of punctuation, stop reading now!)

hey thought i would send my greeting from across africa. i've been home for about 2 and a half weeks and its been good. i arrived to a kinda overcast sky but then it was a pleasant 18 degrees C, at 7 in the morn so it was all good. a brief run down of what i've been up to include going on a week long camp. it was awesome. i was in charge of the baby dorm they are 12 and 13. there photos of my friends spike on the trampoline, my friend laura at the dairy next to the sweetest baby cows (every morning we went tot he dairy to get milk for breakfast at camp), all the leaders on camp in red shirts and a funny pic we took with us under the car!

it was cool i swam in dam, went tubing, ate lots of yummy food, laughed till my stomach hurt and had alot of fun . that was fun. and now i'm back home preparing for Christmas. its a bit weird it being hot coz last year was a cold Christmas but i aint complaining. i spend my days hanging out in the sun with my friends , having coffee and generally enjoying being home. saying that there are a few hang ups like having powercuts for a very long time. longest weve had is 2 days with no electricity!! (drove me crazy!) the cellphone network not working so you cant really get hold of your friends immediatley but you have to try for like 10 mins. gotta love it all (not really)

kay well enjoy your Christmas and New year. i pray that it is a Happy and safe holiday.
Happy Holidays folks

love from me

Hello my furry friends!

Otherwise if not will post once i return to the Land of Eng. But hope you all have an awesome Christmas and New year and i'll be on msn and email if you need to get hold of me!!

Right back to packing........

Friends

I have been thinking a lot about the special people called friends. In small group this week we looked at proverbs 27 and talked about our friends, how we should and would like to treat them, how they should treat us and a load of different other things. It was pretty cool because they boys split off into their own group and the girls were in our own group. It made it easier to be more open with answers and questions.

It got me thinking at how special friends are. At times i know i've taken many of my friends for granted but this week i have really been able to appreciate all my friends do for me and been reflecting. I think it could be the fact that i have met up with everyone because i am leaving early for Christmas. I had a sleep over on friday with Melody (mermaid) and Ruth (ducky). It was the last one with Mel before she goes off to Aussie land. Mel and i went to watch flushed away at the movies and like 3/4 through they had a fire scare and we had to be evacuated out of the building and we got complimentary tickets, to which i am going to use to see another movie, even though i did not finish flushed away. We went to Hungry for God and then we went to collect our giant Dominos pizza and went home to watch the rest of the lost episodes. (Ducky fell asleep!! can you believe it?) Only got to sleep at about half four felt pretty shattered the next day.

I then went to Steve and Mins to say bye and had supper which was delicious! That was Sat night Rachel came along too was good to see her and catch up. We watched Home Alone!! Oh yeah!!! It brought back loads of memories!! Then we watched Cars.

Today i went to the pub after church and had a drink with friends and people from small group (they are also my friends! :-)
Managed to whip Oli's ass at table football!! It was just sitting round the table that i thought again, looking round at everyone that i'm pretty lucky to have friends in my life. In my 22 years i've had to say bye to friends as they have either moved on or moved away and i have thought how it sucked (which it did) But then i think that i am really glad that i had that time with friends to get to know them and stuff. The laughs, chats, tears and all.

So i just wanna say if you reading this your probably my friend (if not ummmm thanks for reading......i guess :-) Thanks for being my friend and know that you are very special to me!

Happy 4th of December

So it has been a while since i last posted because i noticed the blogging has changed and i have just spent an hour converting my blog to beta version and now i am ready to roll! So what has been happening in the life of Mudiwa Ezmeralda Zamchiya? (kidding middle name isnt Ezmeralda, i don't even have one!) I've been getting on with uni. My last year has been flying by like a blimin concorde. Seriously time has been disappearing so fast. Its Christmas soon and i am going back home to Zim on tuesday! I actually can't wait. Will be good to see the Family and also the SUN !! Looking forward to going on camp which starts on Sunday. Thats a week long and involves looking after teenage girls, leading worship, giving talks(mine is on how to live a wholehearted life for Jesus) and oh skiing (on water), game viewing, abseiling (which i will watch and not do, its the heights). Basically its a week filled with loads of fun and awesome times.

This last week has been pretty hectic! I have been forced to do some work and ACTUALLY think and do work on my Dissertation. It's all good i went to library and got a stack of books, now i just have to read them aaaaaggghhh!! I dont know whether i want to take them with me, when i go home because they weigh so much?

end of an era

It seems that the 15th of November is the end of an era! My ipod has died. I have tried everything to revive it but NOTHING works!! I can't believe it. I woke up this morning excited (not) at the fact that i had a 2 and a half hour mini bus journey to plymouth to play hockey and be able to listen to my chunes! Going to take a trip to the apple store and see what they say. I've had my baby for two years, well not really one year then that one died and i got a new one under warranty but still. To part with it is just sweet sorrow. So i might just think i have to say good bye to my old skool ipod!

oh and we finally won today in plymouth 7-0!! woohoo st pauls hockey team!!!

Thought

I got an email from my sister the other day. It was an email that she had recieved from a lady who works at Barclays informing us (the family) that they had finished working on fixing up a run down ward at a hospital near the area my late Dad was raised. Barclays (my dad was on the Chairman of Barclays Zimbabwe) are giving my mum and the Zamchiya family an award and have also dedicated a ward ,that they fixed up in Chipinge in honour of my Dad's continous work in helping the people in the area with his time and donations. The ward is called The David Zamchiya Ward.

It makes me pretty damn proud that after four years after his death, one man's work, my dads work, is still being recognised for his input into the area and other areas. It makes me want to strive to be the extraodinary person he was. It then makes me think what do i want to be rememebered for when i die and what do i want to accomplish with my life?

weekend

This weekend i think, actually i know i had the most fun weekend in a long time! (somehow that sentence doesn't quite sound like correct english..........oh well, back to the funnest weekend ever)

Friday i had my first sleepover of the new semester. Melody and Ruth came over. We went to the movies and watched The Gaurdian which we all really enjoyed, even though it was kinda predicatable. We now adpoted the names Senior Commander Mermaid (Mel), Senior Commander Duckie (Ruth) and Senior Commander Marlin (Me!) Our salute involves saying your S.C followed by your name and 5678! It was awesome. Notice how all our names have something to do with water. That's because the movie was about coast guards you see. So after that we came back home and orders Dominos. Let me just remind you that i live bout 2 minutes from Domino's. when i answered the door, the delivery man had a sort of 'i can't believe you just ordered this pizza and did not walk to collect it...lazy' look! Anyway pizza was yummy. I nearly managed to con Ruth into thinking that i had lions roaming around free back in zim and that i lived in a mud hut. I was so nearly there till Mel made me laugh!! It was a very funny moment! We then had a four hour Lost season 3 marathon!! Ruth is no longer a Lost virgin!! Mel filled her in with every detail!! Was pretty amazing how much detail that girl knows. I usually just watch an episode then forget!! Anyway after that we all packed into the lounge to sleep, which we didnt and ended up chatting till quarter to 4!! Was a really good night/day. Here's a funny pic. Its the best of the lot!!! I kept cutting my head out!

Then sat i got to see Paul and Laura who were over from Bristol! Got to watch X factor at alices house, then we went to waitrose to get some grub and ended up watched Anchorman. (Not a Will Farrell Fan...not at all)

So that sums up my really enjoyable weekend!.......Here's hoping for loads more fun times!!

adventure week

(I just lost the original entry i typed for this when i closed the window by mistake!!!! GOSH!!! so this one isnt as funny and as intresting as it should be. But i tried to remember what i originally wrote!!)

I'm going to name this week adventure week! Why you might ask, well coz i can and also that my housemates and i are going to have a fun filled week. We plan to explore. We decided that seeing as it's our last year at uni we are going to do as much as we can and we are starting with BOWLING!! OH YEAH!! how fun. Anyway that's gonna be first, top of our list then we are going to see our neighbouring town of Gloucester.. I'm keen to go to H&M and see what it has, i need a pair of trousers actually!! We are also going to go ....wait for it......wait for it.......are you waiting......BINGO!! (read in a Napoleon Dynamite voice) YESSSSSSSSSSS!!! YIP!!!! Gonna be awesome! But we aren't going to go to Bee eye en gee o this week coz it would just be too much excitement so we are saving it for another week, but reast assured i will be taking loads of photies!! okay so i better get back to work now as i have had a 35 minute break and it's 00:35!

Countdown

So i sit here SUPPOSED to be working on my current project. It's 00:05 (that's 5 past 12 for all of you who don't understand army time) I was happily doing my work (yeah right) then i got an email saying i had a coment on my blog so got distracted!! (Thanks for the distraction Nae :-) So i have decided to post. It's titled countdown. Why countdown i hear you ask.......well my furry friends, it exactly 70 days till Christmas!! Can you believe it?! That's like 10 weeks or 100 800 minutes or 6 048 000 seconds, or 6 048 000 000 milliseconds. Okay when you put it in milliseconds it seems like a lifetime away. But ya its crazy, CRAZY i tell you, the shops have their Christmas stuff up and Christmas specials up already and it isn't even November!!

So keep posted i shall be doing a countdown every so often so if you wanna know how long till Christmas check here!!! :-)

The return of the "Mudz"

So i guess the honeymoon period is over, in terms of my enthusiasm with my blog. That would probably be the best explanation as to why i haven't posted anything!! I do find myself in a bit of predicament really. Being a graphic designer, i find my blog design rather boring and un-engaging (i know it's not a word) okay not engaging but i will put some work in and get it sorted!! Scoutess honour! I will also update my photies to my flickr account for you to have a gander! As i sit writing this i have to chuckle though because , i am actually talking to myself then i post my post in hope that somebody reads my posts. Anyway i post on!!

What has been happening? Well i have been to uni. We have a new brief for a clothes company called Howies. The brief asks us to do t-shirt illustrations with the the theme of Hope. Third year is all good. It is nice to be at the top of the graphic design department in terms of year! But then again it is rather daunting at the prospect of having to going out into the BIG-BAD-WORLD, to actually find somewhere to live, get a job and provide for myself. I know that it is bout 9 months away but it is still scarey and on my mind. I don't have a dissertation title either!! I know iw ant to do something to do with packaging but i need to narrow it down and think of something intresting that i can argue about......any ideas?!

I am starting a business called GRENADE! Along with two of my friends on my course and they also happen to be my housemates. I am trying to get my head around all the mumbo jumbo that goes with registering a company, gettting web space, business cards, website etc. IT'S ALL GO!!! Launch date end of October, stay tuned!

otherwise i think i'll leave you with this image of a t shirt that made me chuckle

Still alive

So you are probably reading this thinking that I arrived (that we all know from my last post), and have been sitting in my room doing nothing for the past two weeks! That's close to the truth, if you throw in a couple of hours here and there of uni time. But yes I HAVE been breathing and living even though I haven't posted anything but that is soon to change, actually it already has with this post. More to come after I finish watch the American version on the Apprentice.

Arrived

So i got back to the land on Eng yesterday from the U S of A. Flight was ok, i did not get upgraded like i did on my way there, departure time was half an hour later but we made up for time because we had a tail wind. i have my flight ritual which starts with me getting onto the plane of course and then getting to my seat. I then proceed to pick up the inflight entertainment guide and depending on the flight time i then choose the number of films i am going to watch, in my case it was a six hour flight so that makes bout 3 or 4 films and music channels. On this flight i chose my movies in order of preference, only to find that they had not changed the movies to 'flying to UK'!! i was annoyed becuase that then made me have to flick through that set of movies and quickly pick movies i had not read reviews on. So i chose and was pleased because they had Nacho libre (which comes highly recommended by my brother). I settled in my seat read to watch the movie only to find that the channel did not work properly and kept flickering!!!! Now come on British Airways i know i am only flying world traveller (economy) but you could at least give me my moneys worth!!! I ended up watching Wah Wah and listening to the Futureheads new album and the new Snow Patrol albums (really good) for the rest of the flight!!!

Turbulence was a little rough over the Atlantic but i made it through after a couple of white knuckle moments (in my case would be brown knuckle i guess?) Undoubtably the best part of the flight was when we literally flew into daybreak. I unfortunately did not have my camera but found this image that is identitcal to what i saw. It just made me appreciate the earth we live in, being able to see and breathe life and the time i had just spent with my brother, his wife jen and my little 5 month old nephew 'mr chu'

chunes!

Is it just me or does itunes 7 make my music seems better and more exciting to listen to. I find myself wanting to open up the new version on itunes and listen to my beats over and over again. It could just because it's a new version, that looks tighter and cleaner, because i know it's the same music i had last week when it was the old version! Whatever the reason. two thumbs up to Apple for the new design!

music week-all this week

morning music listener!! Just after my last post, i decided to make this week, music week! So all my post this week will be me sharing my favouritist artists and some not so good. Aswell as all things related to music!! Woo hoo!!

Here he is Mr Cool himself, with a capital C. Mr Ben Harper at bonnaroo 2006. It's a really good acoustic song and the guy playing the djembe is Leon Mobley (awesome!). It is just a badass song with really good lyrics and the sound is awesome!! I've watched this video many a time and i have another version in my itunes library where he sings with Jack Johnson!

Shweet music!

Have to say i'm over excited with his new cd. Who you may ask? John Mayer of course!! It is awesome.

A treat for your ears and eyes, here's a live performance he did earlier on this month on NBC! You can't help but smile when he sings.......well i can't!

Just a thought......

Right so i was told to act 22 by my brother in a conversation slash slight disagreement. To cut a long story short he told me to go out and do stuff by myself in dc. Think he wanted me to explore! Anyway it got me thinking. How does a person act their age? I understand that you can act imature and realise that, but when all you are is living your life as a 22 year old. Are you not being 22? I think one can only say act 22, 33, 18, or whatever you are once you have been that age because you have learnt and realised what you should and should not have done!

Learning

So here it is another week, I have 9 days left in the US of A (I will post a summary of the summer run down), till I get back to the UK and back to getting my brain into action again. Over the weekend I went to a barbecue and tried root beer. Never had before so opened the bottle and had a swig. Not too sure whether I like or not, the jury is still out on that one. I sipped about 3/4 of the bottle, you would think that I liked it if I had nearly the whole bottle! But every time I had a sip I tried to work out the flavours and whether I liked it and before I knew it 3/4 of the stuff had gone. I think it tastes too much like a perfumed drink, rather than a refreshing drink.

www.pandora.com probably my best find of the week! What is it? Free web radio, but its a little more special than that. What you do is type in your preferred music artist and the station chooses other artists that are similar to yours and all you do is sit back and listen. It will play 5 songs or so then ask you to sign up which is free. One snag though, it requires a US zip code but we all watched Beverly Hills right?! :-)

Still trying to get blog to look like I want to, think I might have to get off blogger so I'm not limited. So to any blogging veternas out there who don't mind giving me advice, it's more then welcome.

Blogging Expeditions!!!!

Right so here is where it all starts......for me and my blogging expeditions! This will be my attempt at keeping a digital diary, where I will post my thoughts, to which I have to add a WARNING to because some might be a bit random! But I shall strive to provide interesting reading for y'all!! You may be wondering who I am as you read my blog in which case I want to say hi. I'm a 22 year old graphic design student, trying to figure out who I am and what life is all about! My post may be regular and at times a little sporadic. Enjoy and thanks for reading!!
